History of Nalanda

Nalanda Education Institutes were established in 1988 by the four visionaries, Late I V Kameswara Rao, Sri K BasavaPurnaiah, Sri A V Subba Rao and Sri K Rambabu along with the Sri A VijayaBabu as an private institute to facilitate higher education in South India. First established in Vijayawada, NVN now has branches in various cities of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.


YearEffective Changes In Pursuit of Excellence
 2007-08Introduced CE classes for development of spoken English by allotting 2 periods for per section per week
2008-09To impart seriousness towards spoken English classes 20 marks allocation was done in the regular curriculum for speaking skills.
2009-10CE classes up gradation and refining of the program was done (i.e. 2 periods Role-play made 3)
2010-11Nalanda started recording role plays & conversations and sent the CD’s home to parents.CE classes of secondary were segregated and a new curriculum was designed level wise
2011-12Curriculum was completely implemented in Vijayawada and in Vasantha.
 2012-13For effective implementation of CE, CE was made as a separate entity in Secondary. Curriculum has been revised and English labs exercises have been introduced. To streamline syllabus coverage and effective implementation, Lesson Plan system has been introduced


2005Micro/Macro Planning - Hour wise lesson plans were prepared by dividing the Annual Academic plan to Weekly plans
2008Lesson plans are modified to Interactive methodology
 Content mapping was done to bridge the gap for continuity of lessons from class 1 to 10. Introduction of IIT Foundation Course for VIII CBSE. Maths, Physics and Chemistry for 8th CBSE-IIT standard had normal CBSE pattern.
2009  Activity oriented lesson plans were prepared and interactive sessions for secondary classes were introduced.
 Plans were further modified as per HRD proposed curriculum
2010Computer Education EZ Vidya curriculum is introduced in Secondary 
2011Lesson plans were further upgraded and modified. Teacher’s manuals were introduced.
2013To Streamline the Syllabus Coverage and effective implementation of CE Curriculum, NEI introduce a Lesson Plan Systems for Communicative English E-Board content module information has to be included to Lesson Plans Value Based Questioning and the Teaching Manuals have to prepared separately.


Some of the important Decisions Taken Till Date

1998 Extensions to the lesson plans were made to create a competitive edge for NVN Students Testing of such concepts were done by introducing, Section II in Assessments
2008-09A-Group students are provided with applicative questions during study periods to prepare them for the Competitive Exams confidently. Exposing meritorious students to the higher levels and motivating them to work on additional worksheets to be done
2011-12 Competitive Coaching Classes were introduced with separate period allotment, 2 periods each for Mathematics and Science. Syllabus Mapping and Synchronization with the regular syllabus was yet to happen.
2012-13o streamline the allotment, time budgeting and syllabus coverage, competitive coaching was commence during afternoon sessions. To prepare question wise analysis across centers, OMR sheets along with the Worksheets were issued. Subject/Topic wise allotment has been given for the April months schedule and centre wise external examination list has been finalized. This was done to maintain uniformity across branches and help faculty prepare common assessments, work sheets and mock tests ISEET Foundation course has been introduced for classes VIII and IX.


Nalanda is private educational group predominantly based in South Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Established in 1998 by the four founding fathers of Nalanda group.
